Plan Your Visit

Woodlawn has 180-acres to explore.  Visitors can tour the historic Black House (plan 45 minutes to one hour for a tour), shop in our gift shop, come to afternoon tea, take a stroll through our gardens, view our collection of historic carriages and sleighs, participate in special events and activities, play croquet, enjoy a picnic on the grounds, or simply enjoy a walk on the grounds and trails.

Maine CDC COVID-19 guidelines for museums will be followed. At this time Woodlawn plans to require visitors to wear masks when inside the museum.


Black House Tours

This summer we will be offering guided tours only. No self-guided audio tours.
Reservations are required along with a $10 non-refundable deposit.

Admission: Adults $12, Children ages 12-18 $5, under 12 free
*Closed July 4th, Independence Day

Woodlawn is located at 19 Black House Drive, off of Route 172 (Surry Road), in Ellsworth, ME. Approximately ¼ quarter mile from the intersection of US Rte. 1 and ME Rte. 172. See map.
