“What’s it worth?” with Skinner, Inc., Auctioneers & Appraisers
September 30 2016, 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm$31.50 – $51.50
Participants will enjoy a Skinner, Inc., “What’s It Worth?” event that is both entertaining and educational for those interested in the history and the value of antiques. The evening starts with a wine and cheese reception from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Guests will browse through the Black House with two expert Skinner, Inc appraisers, Kerry Shrives and Jane Prentiss and learn about a number of pieces in the Woodlawn collection. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the group will gather in the estate’s Sleigh Barn to enjoy a presentation by the appraisers. The program provides information on the objects that guests have brought to the event along with an estimated value based on current market prices for a similar example.
Items that can be brought to this appraisal event are: porcelain, pottery, toys, dolls, silver, paintings, furniture and rugs. If you have large or particularly fragile items, Skinner recommends that good quality photos be substituted. If you have services of china or silver, please bring one example of each piece in a set accompanied by a list of the total number of pieces instead of the entire set. Items that are not included at this event are: coins, stamps, jewelry, and musical instruments.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Tickets for “What’s it worth?” are $30 per person or $50 per couple. The admission ticket includes the appraisal of one item, per person or per couple.
In addition to the program fee, a $1.50 processing fee will be added to all credit card transactions.
