(WORKSHOP FULL) Nature Photography and Your DSLR Camera
July 18, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm$42.00 – $45.00
Gerry Monteux is a Nikon professional nature photographer who will be teaching this 3-hour workshop to include a lecture and practical experience on the grounds of Woodlawn.
The class includes a 30 minute classroom-like discussion on camera settings and the exposure triangle technique, which will help you quickly become a better outdoor shooter. You will then put your learning to practical experience on the grounds of Woodlawn. While you may not get to see any wild animals, Gerry will guide you to understand more about the dynamics of your camera so you can capture nature the way you would like to remember it. This is a beginner’s course for DSLRs or SLRs cameras only. Please no cell phone cameras.
Gerry’s work can be seen at his gallery in Hancock and several other galleries here in Maine. He specializes in photographing Maine’s iconic landscapes, seascapes, night skies, and wild animals.
Students should come with masks (Woodlawn will provide one if needed), comfortable walking shoes, appropriate dress for the weather of the day and a camera. The classroom session will be held outside weather permitting, or in the Woodlawn conference room with safe distancing and air ventilation practices in place. The workshop includes a tour ticket for a future visit to the Black House museum as it is closed this season.
As space is limited, pre-registration is required.
