Weaver, spinner, author and teacher, Susan Barrett Merrill, will lead a hands-on weaving workshop open to new and experienced weavers. Participants will weave a friendship keepsake on the Journey Loom, a small lap loom, and discuss the history of weaving in Maine. The cost is $90 for Woodlawn members/$100 for non-members and includes materials and loom rental. The Journey Loom will also be available for purchase after the workshop. Bring a bag lunch. Susan is descended from six generations of Maine women who have worked with fiber, weaving, spinning, knitting, crocheting, and rug making. She has taught for many years. As space is limited for the workshop, pre-registration is required by calling Woodlawn at 667-8671. |
