It is a time honored tradition for students of art to work directly from Museum collections. With that in mind, we are introducing a portrait sketching class with local artist, Judy Taylor, using the Woodlawn collection as examples. Students will learn about setting scale, measuring proportions, recognizing and using planes to create sculptural drawings, use of negative and positive space, and the importance of a strong composition. The cost is $130 for Woodlawn members/$140 for non-members. Participants should bring pencils, a sketch pad and a bag lunch. As space is limited, pre-registration is required by calling Woodlawn at 667-8671. |
