In this hands-on workshop, participants will experience creating a multicolor print from a single block of linoleum. The process involves carving a linoleum block and printing in sequence. Each color is printed separately then cut away from the block before introducing the next color. Participants are asked to bring linoleum block carving tools and an exacto knive (#11 blade). They will work on a project either 4" x 4" or 3.5" x 5". If possible, they should bring a simple line drawing to work from. Holly Berry has illustrated several award winning children’s books and shown her linoleum block prints in galleries and exhibits throughout the country. She is a member of The Boston Printmakers and serves on the board of Midcoast Printmakers’s, Inc. The cost is $80 for Woodlawn members/$90 for non-members. As space is limited, pre-registration is required by calling Woodlawn at 667-8671. |
